This upside-down house lacked a clear entry. With long country views, the living areas of the house were on the first floor, requiring a clear entry and a generous stairway. The existing stair was located outside and was very weathered. For the renovation, a new carport gable on the front with a new entry gable beside it added interest to what was a dull front façade, along with new Juliet balconies. A new stylish timber stair was added inside and removing internal walls upstairs created a bright, airy open-planned living area opening onto the existing timber deck.
